Would cinder blocks work for anchoring a indoor swing set?
I want to get a cheap swing set for indoors for my two little ones, would cinder blocks with the wholes anchor it ok?
i have lots of room,so room is NOT a problem.
well ty for the input, i’ll think about it good!!!
I’ve heard horror stories of swings going over and a cinder block happening to land on a child could be dangerous. If they are small children maybe you could put some safety cables from top bar of swing to ceiling and wrap cinder blocks in blankets or something soft. Think Safety
Grass savers underneath swing sets?
I am planning on buying my son a swing set for the garden but dont want the grass ruined when there swinging and scrapping their feet along. Is there anything i can put on the grass to keep it looking good.
If you live in an area where there is an agricultural merchant then get hold of a thing called a ‘cow mat’ or a ‘cotter mat’. They are compressed rubbery mats about 8′ x 4′ designed to stop cows getting grazed knees when housed indoors and are brilliant as a kids safety mat. They cost about £35 plus VAT and are light enough to move around if you don’t want to install permanently under the swing and you can cut them to shape with a small saw.
Is it safe to burn a dismantled swing set made of wood? It looks like it was treated with something chemical.?
I think it’s wood stain… but it’s one of those build-it-yourself Swing Sets that come out of a box. Would the lumber be treated with some hazardous chemicals?
Never burn coated, painted or pressure-treated wood, plywood, particle board or any wood coated or permeated with glue. All of these can release dangerous toxin when burned. Some wood has been related to arsenic poisoning and some wood smoke has been found to contain carcinogens. If you are not 100% sure of what it is, don’t risk it.
Do you think swing sets for the backyard are too expensive?
Do you think they are to expensive or just the right amount of money to pay?
We built our own from pressure treated lumber. this was for our first granddaughter when she was three. She is now 20 and grandchildren number 4 and 5 are enjoying it.
